Year 6 Tudor Christmas Day

We are very excited about this event! There will be a wide range of activities to help the children experience what Christmas was like in Tudor times! They will become members of King Henry VIII’s household for the day, performing a variety of everyday 16th century tasks. These might include being scholars (ink making and writing), scent bag makers, soap ball makers, alchemists, chandlers or leather workers. The day will support the pupils’ learning in history and inspire their writing in English lessons.

Children will have the opportunity to dress up in Tudor costume if they want – more guidance about this will follow. However, there is no obligation to do so. If children are not in costume, then they will be expected to wear full school uniform.

They will need to have a school meal or a packed lunch as normal.
