Year 7 Volcanoes - December 2016

Year 7 pupils have been learning about volcanoes and why they erupt because of density and pressure - a process broadly similar to the bubbles of gas in a bottle of fizzy drink being released once the bottle is open. To demonstrate this, the pupils made their own volcanoes from materials such as papier maché (and in one example, expanding foam) and used fizzy drinks and Mentos to create their own volcanic eruptions.
