500 Words Competition

The entry from our Year 7 student Maddison McTeer in the Radio 2 500 Words Competition made it to the 5000 long list, which is very impressive as there were a staggering 135000  competition entries in all. Maddison's entry did not go through to the Top 50 short list but Mrs. White has received the following message from the 500 Words Competition team for Maddison which says:   .

Please tell Maddison McTeer that she did brilliantly to get that far, and not to be disheartened and to PLEASE keep on writing. As you know, the competition was fierce, with a huge number of entries this year. The Reading Agency, who selected the Top 50 stories from the 5000 long list, were hugely impressed with the quality of those stories which made it through the first round of the competition, so our story writers should feel very proud.
