Ten Million Minutes Reading Challenge
Our pupils took part in a national reading challenge organised by Achievement for All, a national not-for-profit education charity with which the school already works.
The Ten Million Minutes Reading Challenge set out to improve reading in a week and gave schools a chance to win a brand new library or reading area! It was a national challenge open to all primary schools in England which aimed to inspire children’s love of reading.
And we did really well! 57 pupils signed up to the challenge and with our input of reading minutes on the last day, we were 9th on the leader board. The competition organisers spent a few days verifying the final totals, which placed us 12th out of the 231 schools which participated!
This was a fantastic effort - a big thank you to the pupils who took up the challenge, for their enthusiasm and for reading a total of 30997 minutes.
